It's Concert Week Everyone!

This week we have been working altogether in the gym rehearsing as large groups to prepare for our concert.  Grades 3, 4 and 5 will perform with the Lincoln Choir as well.  The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. at OHS.  Directions and concert maps can be found on the "Winter Concert Page"

Information for the Lincoln Choir can be found on the choir page.
We are having a great time making music and are fortunate enough to have 3 music faculty perform with us.  Mrs. Sorenson will be playing flute, Mrs. Guenther will be playing clarinet and Mr. Zastrow will be playing electric bass for the choir,

Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for your patience as I have been out ill for much of this month so far. My voice is returning and it is time to prepare for our concert!
Grades 3,4 and 5 have new things to practice on your pages!  So much to memorize, but remember, We can do hard things!

Hi Everyone,
It's been awhile since I updated the blog. I have been gone much of this month due to illness and being voiceless-but we are on track now!

It's concert time again.  You will find the words to your songs (grades 3, 4, 5 and E2) on your blog pages.  Have a friend join you and work on memorizing your songs!

Our new building is coming along......won't it be nice to make music without desks and tables....Ahh...

Our students are just great!
While we are waiting for the music room be built class is being held in their classrooms.

You all have been such a help moving my tools/materials to and fro all over the building.

Most of all you are creative and patient problem solvers and have helped create space and organization ideas to keep the music making happening.

It's March! (on the calendar anyway)

This week report cards are going home.   Students' self assessments will go home with their report cards for the trimester.  Students and parents are encouraged to compare self assessments with the music portion of the report card.    I am so pround of the progress that has been made this trimester.
We have achieved all of our learning targets even when we have missed 5 days due to snow! Lincoln students really stepped it up-

Check out the 5th graders with their new games.

Renee Fleming famous opera singer sang our National Anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday.  She is the first person to sing it live
(no lip syncing) in over 15 years.
This is an example of extreme Awesomeness
